Make-up, hair, what to wear etc...
Standard Portrait shoot allows for one change of clothing/costume (two outfits). I can cater for additional changes, however this will increase the shoot time and hence the price. However so does the number of final images supplied - please let me know in the notes when booking the shoot.
Make-up and Hair services are not included however I can supply a list of MUAs that you can hire for the shoot if needed.
Performers/Models: please let me know what costumes you plan to wear so that I have time to plan for the best background options for both studio and on-location. Easiest way is to just shoot me a snapshot of your costume(s) with your phone, totally ok to be just on the hanger or on your bed etc.
Non-Performers: What you wear in a portrait is just as important as all the other details such as: lighting, location, and posing. The wrong outfit can really take away from an otherwise really great portrait so we want you be prepared. Here are some pointers to help you select the right outfit:
wear solid colored clothing
choose muted tones that are a bit subdued
choose similar tones for your top and bottom (both dark or both light)
choose 1-3 colors for your group portrait, ones with similar tones that go nicely together and have everyone work within that color palette. For example: dark green, navy, and burgundy – all dark jewel tones. OR tan, a lighter olive green, and denims – all lighter, softer tones.
choose a top with sleeves at least to the elbow
choose long pants for men/ladies or a skirt below the knee for ladies
choose dark socks and footwear (unless it’s a barefoot photo on the beach)
keep jewellery simple and minimalistic
Time, location etc
How long is a shoot? A standard shoot indoors or outdoors runs for 1-2 hours, always allow extra trim on arriving to the studio/location so no time is lost during your booked hours. If I am late then we most definitely will run over time to make up for it, however I endeavor to be professional and always be on time. If there are any purchased add-ons such as extra outfit changes etc, additional time will be allocated and you will be advised of the new time frame.
In the Studio: Photoshoots located at MONZEEKI's studio in the garment district NYC. details are below.
On Location: if your shoot is somewhere specific, all travel expenses will be included on the quote. There are many locations outside in the public that are not additional costs including a couple local parks during the week day etc. However many parks and venues require a location permit and fee, which starts at $150/hr and can be as expensive as $1500/hr. So if you have a specific place in mind, either you can enquire or I can check on your behalf regarding the permit procedures and rates. I also have a general list at the bottom of this page of some common parks in NYC and their requirements and fees.
